BBMP has agreed to start BMTC traffic from June 21 with conditions
In a backdrop of intense pressure from the public, the BBMP has agreed to take down BMTC buses on Monday, June 21, with conditions.
Bengaluru: The BBMP has agreed to take the BMTC buses on the road with conditions from Monday, June 21, following a backlash from the public.
It was learned that Chief Commissioner Gaurav Gupta had consulted with the BMTC Managing Director, City Police Commissioner and Health Department officials at the BBMP office on Thursday and approved the public transport.
The BBMP, which had earlier demanded no exemption from public transport during the first phase of the lockdown, has now allowed public transport to come under pressure from lawmakers and the public.
Infections will only increase if public transport is allowed earlier. The policy has informed the government that it is currently not allowed to operate the bus. The BBMP, which is now under pressure, has agreed to grant conditional permission from the authorities after Monday's decision to allow bus traffic in the city.
Conditions:
Only 50% of buses are allowed on the road, 50% of buses are allowed to travel, masks, social space is mandatory, leave a seat on the buses and sit in one seat, not allowed to travel.
The police department and BMTC officials have been given the responsibility of ensuring that the bus stops are not crowded. Kovid Test has been made mandatory at Majestic, Terminals, major bus stops. It also stipulated that buses should be stopped at 7pm before the start of the night curfew.
