Literature and Senior Researcher Com. Rajegowda Vidyavasha
Mandya : Mansa Gangotri Kuvempu of Mysore Senior Research Fellow Com. Rajegowda, 83, passed away Thursday evening.
He retired as a senior researcher at the Kuvempu Kannada Studies Institute as well as an NGEF specialist. He has edited nearly 62 works, including script editing, translation, history, biography, drama, research, criticism, anthologies, and compliments.
He was the recipient of tens of thousands of awards, including the Gisampa Folk Award, Chunchashree Award, ML Sreekanthagowda Research Award, Folk Specialist Award, Vishwamanava Award, Kempegowda Award, Karnataka Folk Academy Award, HD Chaudhaya Literary Award.
Rajegowder, originally from Bindiganawile Hobili Hanumanahalli village in Nagamangala taluk, was with his daughter Chetana Balakrishna in Saraswatipuram, Mysore. He is survived by son Dinesh Chandra and son-in-law IPS officer KT Balakrishna.
