The Belthangady court upheld its earlier order by imposing a three-month jail term for the civil service trust, Guruvayanakere President K Somnath Nayak, in a case of malicious misconduct against Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala in violation of a court order.
Belthangady : The Belthangady court upheld its earlier order by imposing a three-month jail term on Govt.
Apart from the three-month jail term, the court has also ordered the attachment of real estate owned by Nayak to pay compensation of Rs 4.5 lakh to the field.
An additional civil court in Belthangady issued an injunction in 2013 following an appeal filed by Shri Vidyalaya Dharmasthala, Dharmakshmi Veerendra Hegde's family and other organizations against K. Somnath Nayak and others. It is alleged that the order has been continuously violated and B Vardhaman has gone to court on behalf of the constituency seeking legal action.
After a lengthy trial, the court took note of the fact that Nayak had been sentenced twice before, but following his appeal, the case was sent to the original court for further hearing. The court has now upheld the earlier verdict and sentenced Nayak to three months in jail.
