CBSE result 2021: Students, teachers, parents await first-of-its-kind result

As the July 31 deadline of board exam result declaration, set by a Supreme Court order, is coming closer the anticipation and anxiety of students, and parents is sky rocketing. What makes this year's board results special is that they have been prepared, not evaluated.

Unlike the traditional way in which students go to centres and sit for the board exams, this year the results are being prepared following a particular set of guidelines. This year imputed marks will be awarded to students.

The last time, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE)  held a board examination in a traditional manner was in 2019.

The next year in 2020, the exams had to be stopped in the midst due to nationwide lockdown imposed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to contain the spread of coronavirus. The results of the board exams, which could only be partially held, was declared in a different way which is being termed as the alternative assessment policy.

In 2021, the exams were slated to begin on May 4 but could not commence due to sudden surge in coronavirus cases. In order to save an academic year and ensure the overall safety of students, all state boards, except few, and the CBSE and CISCE decided to cancel board exams and award marks to students based on a different assessment scheme where in the marks of previous classes and the performance of the school was factored in.

Students and parents are eagerly waiting for the first-of-its-kind CBSE board results.

However, there is no official update on CBSE result date and time. Many state boards have also not informed about the result declaration date and time.
